Mentoring Project Co-ordinator
(part-time 17.5 hours per week)

job description
You will promote the long-term integration of refugees by co-ordinating a mentoring project, funded by TimeBank, in the Manchester area. Within the project, you will be responsible for the recruitment, training and matching of mentors and mentees, as well as networking to raise awareness of the project.

With an insight into the needs, hopes and fears of refugees and asylum seekers, you will have experience of supporting people within a mentoring, befriending or volunteer context. In addition, you will have experience of interviewing and assessing candidates, as well as designing and delivering training. A proven facilitator, you will have effective planning skills and experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory organisations.

Trustee/Honorary Treasurer

We deliver high-quality help and advice, promote the development of refugee communities and strive to enhance opportunities and services for refugees and asylum seekers. Today we have a nationwide presence, with 170 staff, hundreds of volunteers and offices in ten key regions across the country.

As Honorary Treasurer, with the Chair and Trustees, you will ensure the organisation meets its financial obligations and governance responsibilities. You must have experience of serving on a managing committee/body of a substantial organisation or project, be strategically minded and have a solid understanding of management accounts and financial control. Above all though, you must have an understanding of the needs of refugees and asylum seekers and a commitment to promoting their welfare and rights.

Caseworker (6-month Maternity Cover)

Caseworkers are an important first point of contact for newly arrived refugees and asylum seekers and provide independent quality advice, information and support.

With one year’s experience of advice work and six months’ experience of working with people in sensitive and emotionally demanding situations, you will have excellent communication and administration skills, be well organised and able to efficiently grasp individual needs and provide a high standard of advice.

Asylum AdviceTeam Manager

job description
Leading and developing a diverse team, you will oversee the delivery of a wide range of services for refugees and asylum seekers. Services include advice and support for individuals or groups, awareness raising, youth projects and the training of other agencies. You will plan and develop new approaches and take every opportunity to build positive relationships with
partner agencies and potential funders alike to improve services for refugees.

With an insight into the needs, hopes and fears of refugees and asylum seekers, you will have two years’ management experience and proven project and budget management skills. In addition, you will have the ability needed to run advice services and/or community development projects within a complex and fast-paced environment. You will also have the
ability to develop and manage new services, as well as the ability to fundraise.
