Leicester
Salary £23,039 - £25,400 per annum

You will provide written and verbal representation – including advocacy in court – to refugees and asylum seekers. It’s a varied role which will involve lodging immigration applications, taking instructions from clients, preparing cases and ensuring you keep abreast of all relevant changes in immigration/asylum law.

If you are accredited at LSC level 2, with recent experience of immigration/asylum advice and representation, IAS can provide an environment where you can learn all aspects of immigration law and be part of a team committed to protecting refugees’ rights.

As well as a comprehensive induction programme and on-going training and development, we offer a flexible pension scheme and generous holiday entitlement.

Closing date: 08 September 2006

Probationers (Immigration Advisers/Counsellors) - Ref: IAS/WEB/048
Middlesbrough
Salary Range: £15,222 - £16,782 per annum

A great opportunity to learn about immigration law and be part of a team committed to protecting refugees’ rights, this front-line role will see you provide advice and support to clients seeking assistance with their asylum and immigration claims. As well as progressing cases under the Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme, you will also be fully trained to gain accreditation under that scheme within six months of taking up your post.

If you are used to providing advice in a professional environment, have excellent interviewing and listening skills and are able to formulate legal written representations, this may be the role for you. Sensitive to other cultures and with an understanding of the issues raised by asylum/immigration matters, you are keen to acquire more knowledge in this area. Sound office IT skills are important, as are good organisational skills and experience of working to Quality Assurance standards.

Closing date: 08 September 2006
