The Refugee Council is one of the agencies within the Asylum Support Programme Inter-Agency Partnership (IAP) which was formed following the implementation on the 1999 Immigration and Asylum Act.

The National Asylum Support Service funds and Inter Agency Co-ordination Team (ICT) help to co-ordinate the IAP agencies’ delivery of the asylum support programme. The ICT provides policy advice, operational information, and programme development information and advice.

The ICT is headed by the Inter-Agency Co-ordinator and includes a Policy and Development Adviser, Information and Research Co-ordinator, and occasional staff on a consultancy basis.

The main purpose of the Administrative Officer post is to provide administrative support to the ICT, the IAP agencies, and the Home Office. You will have a background in administration with a minimum of two years experience of providing administrative support. As a highly organised individual you will have previous experience of devising and maintaining effective & efficient office administration systems and possess a good working knowledge of Windows based IT applications including spreadsheets and word processing. As a confident and diplomatic communicator you will be comfortable liaising with a wide variety of people to a senior level both internally and externally. Your excellent organisational and IT skills will be complemented by the ability to handle multiple priorities without compromising the ability to meet deadlines. An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the principles of Equal Opportunities are essential.
