Quote: | Dear Colleagues,
We are delighted to announce the launch of our new website, which you will continue to find at: www.refugeecouncil.org.uk. We hope the new website will be much easier to navigate, helping you access our material more quickly.
The updated website offers a number of new features:

http://www.refugeecouncil.org.uk/howwehelp
Multilingual microsite: Written in 20 languages, this section empowers refugees and asylum seekers to access all our client information leaflets, navigating in their own language.

Practice: This section draws together all our practical guides and information leaflets. This area includes a basic guide to asylum and gives details on our information service and teaching resources.

Subject: Problems with our external web server
Importance: High
Dear all,
This is just a quick note to let you know that due to unexpected problems on our external web server, the following web sites are currently not available:
http://languages.refugeecouncil.org.uk
http://wwww.dontbelievethetype.org.uk ( http://www.dbtt.org.uk ) and
http://www.baag.org.uk
http://www.asset-uk.org.uk
We have contacted PIPEX, the company that looks after our external web server, and they are doing their best to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Our main web site and Refugees into Business web site are not affected by this issue.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. Should you have any queries please contact the I.T Helpline.
We will let you know when the sites are up and running again.
Regards |

Quote: | Subject: Multilingual website
Dear all,
As I hope you are all now aware, we have a new multilingual section to our website which allows clients to access our client information through their own language. The multilingual section is in 20 languages and each language page contains a number of different client information sheets.
It can be accessed at http://languages.refugeecouncil.org.uk
For each language home page just add the language to the end of the web address with a forward slash:
Eg http://languages.refugeecouncil.org.uk/arabic
http://languages.refugeecouncil.org.uk/french
http://languages.refugeecouncil.org.uk/dari
However, we realized that this format while useful for clients may be difficult for advisers who may want to download the same client leaflet in different languages. So we have created a special section for advisers in English where they can pick the information leaflet they require and then download it in as many languages as are appropriate.
This is available from the multilingual website by clicking on ‘Resources for advisers’ at the very top of the page or you can access it directly through the following link:
http://www.refugeecouncil.org.uk/practice/multilingual/advisers
As always, we would be delighted to hear your feedback and suggestions so we can include these for the next phase. And of course any feedback you get from clients. I will hopefully arrange to come to one of your team meetings in October to discuss these new sections further with you.
All the best
