Contracts Officer

Brixton, London 27,054 30,030

The Refugee Council is the leading charity working with asylum seekers and refugees in the UK. Through grant agreements with the Home Office, we are funded to provide a range of direct services through our One Stop Services and through sub-contracts with other refugee assisting agencies in the UK. As part of our Business Services Section, our contracts team has management responsibility for a number of contracts and provides support to other teams across the organisation.

Helping develop and implement a range of contract processes that include bidding, procurement, assessments, feedback to bidders and contract monitoring, you will deal with complaints and develop relevant policies and procedures. Yo
ull also negotiate with suppliers and service providers and set up and maintain an internal database of contracts held.

With experience of contract compliance, procurement, sub-contracting and outsourcing, you also have a good understanding of the legal issues involved and excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills. As comfortable investigating complaints as you are managing quality control systems, you will have an appreciation of the key issues facing asylum seekers and refugees and will be willing to travel outside London as required.
