UEL ANTHROPOLOGY RESEARCH AND PHD TASTER DAY JUNE 13, 2006

UEL is rated among the top 10 universities for Anthropology in the UK. We have an exciting and diverse range of ongoing research projects, including work on the origins of language and culture, carnival, sexuality, neolithic lifeways and beliefs, visual arts, kinship, indigenous cultures, knowledge construction, migrations and diasporas, refugees, violence and human rights.
UEL will be hosting an anthropology research day on June 13 at its Docklands Campus. The event will include panels for new and established researchers and taster sessions for those interested in pursuing PhD research.

Call for Papers

Postgraduate researchers in anthropology are invited to present papers on work-in-progress or on their experiences of doing post-graduate research or their experiences of the UK academic setting. Send an abstract or contact the organizers for details:

A small travel bursary funded by C-SAP will be available for participation.

Taster Day for potential PhD applicants

Whether you are an active researcher with work in progress or are simply thinking about starting a PhD in Anthropology, come along to our Anthropology Research and Taster Day to find out more from anthropologists at UEL and other UK universities. You will have opportunities to discuss your research proposals with experienced researchers and to obtain details about the application process.
Contact Dr Narmala Halstead (n.halstead@uel.ac.uk) or Dr Merl Storr (m.j.storr@uel.ac.uk).
