Researcher/Administrator (part-time, 14 hours per week)

job description
Refugee Action needs a competent, efficient Researcher/Administrator to work alongside our Programme Manager on an exciting new national development project. Within the project, you will undertake desk research, collect and interpret data from written and electronic sources, and develop and maintain efficient administrative systems. You will also be required to communicate with Refugee Community Organisations, based in the East Midlands, North West and South of England, to collate and share information about this project. You will also have contact with other stakeholders in the region including key voluntary sector agencies, and local and regional funders.

This project is a partnership involving Refugee Council and is funded by the Big Lottery Fund.

You will be working in a busy city centre office alongside Refugee Action’s Asylum Advice, and Development teams, and our Voluntary Return Project ‘Choices’ as well as with various volunteers.

You will have two years administrative experience, and one years experience in collating and using data for a variety of purposes. You will be able to work on your own initiative and have good verbal and written communication skills. In addition you will need strong organisational and prioritising skills, be able to work to deadlines, manage a diverse workload, and have the ability to carry out tasks to a high standard. Experience can have been gained in the UK or abroad, paid or voluntary.
