Data and Statistics Worker
(until 31st March 2007)
Grade 5
Salary £24,690 pro rata
Based Brixton
Funded by the Home Office and a variety of other sources, the Refugee Council provides direct advice and support services for asylum seekers and refugees over a wide range of welfare rights related topics. This provides for a wide range of activities and a complex funding structure. The purpose of the post is to ensure that all activities are captured, recorded and reported on/to different stakeholders.
The Data and Statistics worker will have responsibility to capture all data relating to performance and volume for each of the services, for funders, operational managers, the senior management team and trustees. From time to time she/he will be working with policy teams or other agencies to identify the impact of certain policies and practices. She/he will also work closely with the Data and Statistics Co-ordinator and deputise for him/her when necessary.
With at least one year’s experience in a similar role you will be confident in collating recording and reporting on a wide range of statistical data, be numerically confident and comfortable in utilising IT packages to perform your tasks. You will also have one year’s experience of working with complex data and/or databases, with the ability to design accessible formats to present statistical information to a wide audience. You must be able to produce clear, comprehensive and accurate numerical and statistical reports, along with the ability to develop computerised and manual systems. With strong interpersonal and liaison skills you will be capable of working to tight deadlines maintaining accuracy at all times. Your commitment to the work of The Refugee Council is vital along with an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the principles of Equal Opportunities.
