The Refugee Council is the largest charity working with asylum seekers and refugees in the UK, and provides services to clients in offices in London, Ipswich, Leeds, Hull, Oakington, Sheffield and Birmingham.

The Resettlement Team is seeking to recruit a Team Administrator to provide day-to-day administrative support for the work of the team in Norwich. The resettlement team works with refugees who have come to the UK as part of the Gateway Protection Programme, providing support and assistance during their first 12 months in the UK.

The post-holder will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of administrative duties. These include maintaining a paper filing system of client records, updating the database and collating weekly and monthly statistics, answering telephone queries and liaising with other Refugee Council departments.

You must have experience as an administrator in a busy office environment, and be able to work in a diverse, multi-cultural team. A good command of written and spoken English is required, along with excellent communication and organisational skills. Experience of using a computerised database, word-processing and spreadsheet packages is needed. You must have the ability to work effectively as a member of a team and on your own initiative. Your commitment to the work of The Refugee Council is vital along with an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the principles of Equal Opportunities.
