Project Worker in the Resettlement Team
(21 hours per week, temporary until 31st July 2007)
Grade 5
Salary £21,588 pro rata
Based Sheffield
The Refugee Council is the largest charity working with asylum seekers and refugees in the UK, and provides services to clients in offices in London, Ipswich, Leeds, Hull, Sheffield and Birmingham.
The resettlement team will provide advice and support for resettled refugees to help them access services and mainstream provision, and establish community links. Working closely with local stakeholders and in partnership with other voluntary sector agencies running similar services across the UK, the Refugee Council resettlement team in Yorkshire and Humberside will promote both the integration and independence of this group.
With first class communication and negotiating skills you will liaise effectively with a diverse range of clients, outside contacts and other teams within the Refugee Council. Your listening and empathising skills will be coupled with the ability to manage your own workload effectively and cope with the demands of working in a pressurised environment.
