WESTREP CO-ORDINATOR AND EVENTS ORGANISER
WESTREP CO-ORDINATOR Salary - £26,250 (ILW)p.a. (Job ref:WCO)
FIXED TERM UNITL 31ST MARCH 2007
WESTREP is an umbrella organisation of Refugee Forums and refugee community organisations in West London. WESTREP aims to support and enable refugee forums and RCOs to play a key role in informing and shaping policies by working in partnership with both statutory and non-statutory organisations improve the quality of life of their communities by developing their capacity to meet the unmet needs. WESTREP has the following vacancy:-
WESTREP CO-ORDINATOR SALARY: £26,250 (ILW) PER ANNUM 35 HOURS PER WEEK (Job Ref: WCO)
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To develop WESTREP by promoting greater participation by its members;
To drive the capacity building programme for refugee forums and RCOs;
To coordinate partnership development activities with local and regional agencies ;
To develop a funding strategy for WESTREP and securing funding for broader activities;
To service the Board of Directors/Trustees;
To develop a computerised database of RCOs and stakeholders.
We are looking for a committed and highly motivated individual to take the development and delivery of the WETREP Programmes forward by working in partnership with West London Refugee Forums, Refugee Community Organisations, voluntary and statutory organisations, policy shapers, decision makers and researchers to raise the profile of refugee community organisations and build their capacities.

WESTREP EVENTS ORGANISER Salary - £24,279 (ILW)p.a. (Job ref:WEO)
FIXED TERM UNITL 31ST MARCH 2007
WESTREP and the West London Refugee Forums are organising events to bringing together refugee communities of all races and faiths, celebrating their achievements and promoting integration with the wider community.
The events will be a good opportunity for all of these individuals and groups to come together in one place:-
To find out more about each other, to exchange ideas, and to engage with the wider community, the media and other organizations that wish to improve the lives of refugees.
Our goal is to allow everyone to sample the richness and diversity of life in West London, in a single day. These events will display the artistic, cultural and professional achievements of individual refugees and their communities. There will be presentations and stories by refugees from each Borough (organised jointly by each Refugee Forum). The events will also include children’s activities (including competitions, games, and drawing, reading and story-telling sessions) and speeches and discussion from prominent members of the voluntary sector, the government and the media. To develop, organise and deliver events in partnership with refugee forums and refugee community organisations in West London;
To produce a detailed publicity/media strategy;
To establish and service events Steering Group;
The recruitment, induct, train, support and supervise volunteers to effective event deliver the events;
To prepare regular reports to WESTREP Trustees and funders;
To developed good working relationship between the Forums and WESTREP to effectively implement that work plan;
To effectively monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the events work plan and programmes;
To produce end of project report and evaluation to the Trustees and funders;
for broader activities;
To service the Board of Directors;
To develop a computerised database events participants and other stakeholders.
We are looking for a committed and highly motivated individual to effectively organise events and celebrating the diversity of races and faiths in West London and the importance of a shared sense of belonging between different refugee communities, and between refugees and the wider community across West London.
