Interim Head of Finance 12 Month Maternity Cover.

Grade 11

Salary 42,234 (plus market supplement)

Based Brixton

This role is a minimum of a 12-month contract to cover the extended maternity leave of the current Head of Finance.

Reporting in to the Director of Resources you will be a key figure within the organisation providing strong, visible leadership on a wide range of financial matters. Whether producing management information or providing financial and operational controls, you will actively develop the systems and strategies to enable the Refugee Council to deliver its wider corporate aims. Whilst leading and developing a team of 9, you will have a fantastic opportunity to further your existing management skills and to develop the active support Finance gives to the senior managemen
t team.

Key responsibilities include: -
 To advise the Director of Resources on all aspects of financial policy and law including statutory requirements, best practice and development of new initiatives.
 Responsibility for the day to day running of the Finance team.
 To be the key link between the SMT and Finance.
 To develop the current KPI's and management reports for the organisation.
 To develop and implement corporate financial policies and strategies enabling financial efficiency.
 To develop and implement systems for financial planning, monitoring and control of financial resources.
 To lead and manage a finance team of 9.
 To be responsible for the proper management of any corporate assets/investments of the Council.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA). You must have previous experience of working in a charity as well
as managing, leading and motivating staff. You will have the ability to contribute to the SMT giving key input into strategy whilst maintaining a firm hand on the day to day finances of the charity. Adding value wherever possible as this role is crucial to leading the organisation forward.
