The Refugee Council operates in a rapidly changing environment. Recent changes in asylum policy and legislation have resulted in growing information needs across the refugee sector. The Marketing and Information team aims to help address these needs in order to help improve the quality of services received by refugees and asylum seekers, and at the same time aims to raise income through effective sales and marketing of our information and training. The marketing strategy is targeted at local authorities, health care professionals, education providers, police, and other service providers in dispersal areas all around the country.
The purpose of the post is to facilitate the successful delivery of public training cours
es, in-house training courses and support in the delivery of conferences and other income generating and/or campaigning events. This is a highly involved role that will require the post holder to undertake a wide range of tasks to facilitate all aspects of the Refugee Councils events programme. You will be responsible for liasing with all trainers, assisting courses where possible, administration of all aspects of the training programme, and day-to-day supervision of volunteers as required.
The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience in event facilitation and in marketing of training or conferencing. You will also have excellent customer care skills. The postholder will be a first class communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Your IT skills will include the ability to utilise Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet Explorer packages. You will have a very good command of the English language coupled with the ability to analyse information to prod
